Established in 1994 by Michael Tivadar and Saamis, Shannon Monumental Ltd. provides convenience and quality of workmanship at affordable prices to the families who have lost a loved one. 

Part of providing funeral services is ensuring that families do not need to feel added stress or frustration. Losing a loved one is always difficult, which is why at Saamis Memorial we believe giving families peace of mind and providing convenient services is extremely important. In order to ensure that families would not have to make numerous arrangements with multiple providers, we opened our Medicine Hat Cemetery, which currently serves as the final resting place for those that we serve, unless specified as otherwise.  

The name was chosen in honor of the Shannon Family, who had settled and lived at this location for three generations.  The building that presently houses Shannon Monumental Ltd. was actually part of the Shannon’s Gas Manufacturing Plant that produced gas conversion burners for the old coal and wood stoves and stock water heaters, among other things. Pat Shannon, granddaughter of the late William James Shannon, honored the opening of Shannon Monumental Ltd. by assisting in the ribbon cutting in 1994.  

Shannon Monumental Ltd. is proud of its skilled craftspeople and our monuments are now seen in many of the cemeteries in the district.
