Obituary for Kathleen RoseMarie Routly (Yestl)

Kathleen RoseMarie Routly (Yestl)
Kay died peacefully at the age of 82 surrounded by family on Saturday, January 28, 2017 in Medicine Hat, Alberta. Kay was predeceased by her husband Gerald Routly. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and Sister Geraldine (Gerri) Boudreault, along with many friends and family members. Kay was born in Empress, Alberta and spent her first years on the banks of the South Saskatchewan River in the community of Estuary where her dad ran the ferry between Leader and Empress. The family later moved to Alsask, Alberta and then to Calgary, Alberta. In 1951, Kay met and married Gerald, and they started their family. In 1953 Kay dedicated her life to her God Jehovah, who she faithfully served until her death. Kay and Jerry relocated to Medicine Hat in 1980 and soon forged friendships that have lasted to this day. Kay was always ready with hot coffee or cold ice tea and often fresh homemade cookies or muffins for anyone who stopped by for a visit. Her kind, willing spirit along with her wit will be missed by all that knew her. We wish to thank all of the friends and family that have been so loving and kind to Kay throughout the years. Our warm thanks also go out to those of the Medicine Hat Home Care Team who have helped in so many ways over the past few years, and recently, those of Palliative Care Team including Carmel Hospice. At the request of Kay, there will be no service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Watchtower Society of Canada (www.jw.org).
