Our thoughts are with you during this difficult time. Uncle Howie- we are going to miss all the visits and calls that kept us in close touch. We laughed and we cried together but you had such wise words to keep us going forward to face another day. You will be missed by family and friends but our memories of you will always give us a smile or two. Hugs to all.

Condolence: Howard E. Gould (Howie) our brother was the third of eleven, five sisters, five brothers, husband, father, grandfather and friend to many. He enjoyed life to the fullest, family was always very important to him, never being too busy to talk whether at home or long distance. When you called his words would always be "Oh, how are you and all at home today?" His love and affection for his wife Pat and three daughters and grandchildren were forever of his concern and happiness.
After completing his education Howard worked at Sifto Salt and drove taxi in Amherst, NS before joining the RCAF, serving 29 years. After retirement, he joined the RCMP as Special Constable. His life in the military with transfers far away, kept visits very few over the years. There were many conversations through slow mail and long distance. Myself being in the RCAF could relate and many times a visit home would be during a transfer to another destination. Howard often talked of how he missed family, he loved fishing trips he had with his father-in-law Mr. Teel and the hunting trips with his own father and brothers. Family visits included Seagrove Beach on the Amherst Shore with siblings and their families. There was always much to eat, a lot of fun and laughter. Many great memories.
Although being away from family Howard did enjoy military life, with travel and rewards. Stationed at Base Shilo he met Patricia Teel who became his wife, the love of his life, and soon began a family of their own. During his career Howard was rewarded a trip around the world, visiting many countries of which he talked of the poor and hardships that other people had to endure, noting how very lucky we are. Howard had been exceptionally honoured with his commitment to the Saber F86, receiving a plaque in his name which was placed in front of the Saber F86 at RCAF Base Trenton Ontario.
Myself and Hazel hold dear our visits with Howard, Pat and family, many good times were enjoyed over the years. Having and calling you my brother makes me forever proud. With heavy heart, at your bedside during your final days and hours along with daughters Susan, Patty and granddaughter Britney will be forever with me.
I will now close with these words:
Your ashes and urn we commit to the elements
Your memories we keep in our hearts
Your spirit hath returned to God who gave it
The will of God is accomplished.
May you rest in peace,

Murray and Hazel

Condolence: Howard (and Pat) were stalwarts in our small housing community outside of Rockland. We shared many conversations over the years as we saw each other walking around the block and at a few neighbourly gatherings... then later at the local YMCA where we commiserated on our fitness at the swimming pool. His passing was a shock and terrible loss to all of us. He was an avid golfer and I am told that he showed many of our neighbours how to swing a club. He left us on the same day as another great golfer, Arnold Palmer. My sincere condolences to Susan, Patricia and Brittany and the rest of the family. We share in your grief.

It is with a heavy hearts that we say how very sorry we are for the loss of your Dad and Grandfather. Uncle Howard grieved with us earlier this year, and now we grieve for him. We will miss his many visits, words of wisdom, amazing stories and those wonderful hugs. One thing we all felt from Uncle Howie was the love he had for his family, immediate and extended. So fortunate to have been a part of his life and proud to call him Uncle. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

Condolence: Today we say farwell to a husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle to many.As many of you today sadly remember Howard or Howie to many who knew him as a great man to his family and friends. l would like to do something that my Uncle Howard as l called him who gave a speech at all the funerals of the family members in rememberance at this time a speech for him. Uncle Howard as l fondly can say from a early age seen the love and passion he had for his wife Pat and his 3 daughters as well as his grandchildren in the later years. Many could see the glow in his eyes as well as smile that would light up a room from the words of joy speaking of them all.He truly cared alot of all his family with the kind words as well as speeches we shall never forget. My fondness memories shall treasure the stories he shared as well as the handshakes and hugs l received over the years that only he could give at that time of need. His words seem to flow smoothly that you felt them deeply in your soul. The joy he brought to all shall never be forgot and his kindness seem to spread to all that knew him.May we all learn from great people like him so we can keep his passion for life ,his stories of the past when he was growing up as well as when he served in Arm Forces and R.M.C.P that kept us safe.l shall never forget you Uncle Howard as you gave me answers of our family history where my other aunts and uncle who had passed left off.For that l shall never forget and hope the ones you left behind like myself share the knowledge to keep the family close as you did with all of us.In closing l would like to say my heart goes out to his 2 daughters, their families at this time of lost as well as his last 2 sisters and brother who will miss your present.Your time and work is complete on earth so go see the ones you missed they been waiting for you as your sprirt will always be in the hearts of us you passed the gifts of true life to.
Thank You for all from Vaughn Jr. aka "Sonny's Boy "

Condolence From: Bob Nichols
Condolence: Uncle Howie was someone I seldom saw due to great distance between us but could always relate to and looked up to. We share the same Birthday so every year I could always count on an email or a phone call to check into how my golf game was going and how the family was making out! (he introduced me to the game of golf actually!). Recently, Janis, Ella and I completed a trip to PEI, New Brunswick and Nova Scotia. When I was younger, I had the opportunity to complete a very similar trip on 2 occasions with Aunty Pat and Uncle Howie that I still have found memories of. Uncle Howie was very inspiring this past spring helping us plan all the "must see" sites to visit. He was a very caring and inspiring person...and a true privilege to call my Uncle. Please accept our condolences on behalf of the Nichols family.
