His impact

My thoughts are with Britt, Patty and Susan. Uncle Howard was a great lover of people and life. I have often gone to him for his wise advice and help, he and aunt Pat were always there for us if and when we have needed them. I will sorely miss them. Uncle Howard had a successful career and the military, but I will always remember most the work he did at the Riverside HOspital. He worked in security at the hospital, but he did so much more while he was keeping the peace. Years ago I overheard a co worker talking about how Howie kept him together that night while he waited for news of his wife. I joined the conversation and found out the Uncle Howie had sat with him most of that night, laughing, praying, golfing stories, etc. He asked that I thank Howie once again. WHen I called him and told him the story, he modestly laughed and said that he did like to talk to the people. After that, I always asked about the care at the Riverside and many people knew Howie and they all thought I was very lucky to have a man like him as an uncle - I could not agree more with that. All my best to everyone who will miss him, especially Patty and Susan who have lost so much.
